This is how you can apply to kulturskolen:

Use our application portal (Speedadmin). Fill out all the necessary information, and you are good to go. You will be on our waiting list at first. You will receive an email from us when there is an open spot at your desired subject.

Important dates: May 1st – We start enrolling pupils for the upcoming school year. It is wise to send in your application before this date.

The school year:

Askøy kulturskole follows the primary school holidays. Some of our planning days may differ. You can find an overview by logging in as a pupil or guardian on Speedadmin and selecting "Timeplan" in the menu at the top.

Important dates: May 1st – Every pupil must decide if they want to continue lessons in the upcoming school year. You will receive emails with information about when and how to do this.

Sick days:

If your teacher is sick, we will get a substitute teacher for your class. If this is not possible, you will receive an SMS from us saying that your class has been cancelled.

You must notify your teacher if you are sick or cannot attend class. You will find your teacher’s information by logging on to Speedadmin.

Special terms for piano students:

The pupil is responsible for buying sheet music to be used in lessons. Pupils that study the piano must have a piano or electrical piano with weighted keys at home; a keyboard is not sufficient.

Renting instruments:

We have some instruments available for rent, for example violins and cello. Please contact us if you need to rent an instrument. Instruments and materials that are borrowed by pupils must be treated with care.

If you want to resign:

Use Speedadmin to resign as a pupil. Contact us if you need help with resigning.

Important dates: There are two deadlines for resigning: May 1st and December 1st. You will receive an invoice if you resign after these deadlines.
