Dagmar Lyngbø Eriksen (83) loves nature. - Instead of sitting on a sofa and fading away, I want to go for walks as long as I can, she tells the podcast SVEIP.

Dagmar is a hiking legend on Askøy. The 83-year-old is known for her great commitment to getting more people out hiking, especially the elderly.
Humor and fast pace
A walk with Dagmar is never boring. The 83-year-old always has a joke or a good story to tell. The laughter is contagious, and that's perhaps not surprising. Because the good mood runs in the family. Dagmar's brother, Arne Lyngbø, sang and joked in the square in Bergen, and Dagmar is also the aunt of comedian Dagfinn Lyngbø. If you're going to walk with Dagmar, you also have to be prepared to keep a high pace.
- I keep getting told, "Dagmar, you're going too fast," she says, laughing out loud. When she gets home after a three-hour trip, she usually relaxes on the couch for half an hour.
- Then I usually think through the trip I've taken, and then it's important to give my body some rest.
Dagmar mound
The energetic pensioner also has her own mound named after her: Dagmar's mound. It was a volunteer group that suggested it several years ago, and a sign was put up. But the sign eventually fell down, and at the request of many hikers, Dagmar took the initiative to have a new sign made. She got help to burn "Dagmar's mound" onto the sign, but painted and varnished it herself – and carried it into place.
- It was a long walk and heavy to carry. You have to calculate at least an hour and a half to walk from the football field at Erdal. But the sign is still there. I was just up there planting daffodils, she says.
Enthusiasm award from the hiking team
Dagmar is not only concerned with her own health. She has been a tour leader for the Wednesday tours of Askøy Turlag for many years and has also been the driving force behind the fitness group Aktiv til 100. For her great commitment, she recently won the hiking club's enthusiast award. The statement of reasons states, among other things: "Dagmar is simply a fantastically good person who stands up when needed. Thank you, Dagmar, for giving so much of yourself and spreading hiking joy to everyone you meet! You are happy to be with Dagmar."
